ABOUT US

We are one of the largest Boys' Brigade Companies in the UK with over 220 officers and boys. We are based in Buckie, a fishing town located on the Moray Firth Coast. We are very much a traditional BB company and are attached to the Buckie South and West Church in the town. The youngest of our boys, the Anchor Boys, meet on a Monday night in the Church Hall where Fun is key to the programme. The boys meet and enjoy crafts, games, badge work and also practice singing for the annual enrolment parade and Inspection. Our Junior Section also meet on a Friday with this year over, 40 boys enjoying a varied programme of figure marching, games and badge work, with all boys working towards their Gold Achievement. The Gold Achievement Badge is awarded at the end of Primary 6, after 3 years in the juniors. The company section, with over 100 young men, meet on a Friday evening at the local community high school where they follow a programme of drill, P.E. and a selection of badge work classes.  For most boys, the ultimate goal is the Queen's badge, awarded to boys who have fulfilled the challenge of attendance, discipline and badge work and carried the various tasks associated with the queen's badge. Tuesday nights are when both our bugle band and gymnastic team met to practise.  The company band is over 30 strong and has only recently been sponsored for new instruments, bugles and drums.  The gymnastic team practice, throughout the winter months for their display item at the annual display in March.
