Top of the form tournament success (march 2016)
On March 21, 2016, the 1st Buckie team achieved a fantastic third-place finish in the Banffshire Battalion Top of the Form tournament! A huge congratulations goes to the team members: Jamie Wood, Karl Thomsen, Cameron Grant, and Finlay McKay. Their performance demonstrated excellent teamwork and knowledge, representing the brigade with pride. This tournament is a key event in the battalion calendar, and achieving third place is a significant accomplishment for our boys. We're incredibly proud of their efforts and dedication to the competition.
Senior 5-a-side football finals (february 2016)
The senior 5-a-side football team secured a commendable fourth place overall at the Scottish Finals in Dundee on February 21, 2016. The team consisted of Innes McKay, Ryan Brindle, Greg Hay, Jamie Wood, and Brodie Christie, along with Lee Cowie, Evan Smith, Scott Innes, and Ross Coull. Reaching the Scottish Finals is a remarkable achievement and a testament to their hard work and skill. The competition was fierce, and they represented 1st Buckie with determination and sportsmanship.
Swimming gala triumphs and upcoming events (february 2016)
February 3, 2016, saw the 1st Buckie team triumph at the swimming gala, winning both Swimming Trophies! Several important dates were also announced: 1st Banff will compete in Greenock on March 5th in the Scottish Junior 5-a-side Final. 1st Buckie are set to play at Grangemouth on February 20th in the Senior 5-a-side Football Final. The Building Your Skills Course will take place on February 28th in Banff. Don’t forget the Company Top of the Form in Turriff on February 24th at 7pm, and the Battalion Executive Meeting also on February 24th.
Anchor boy / junior fun day (january 2016)
The Anchor Boy / Junior Fun Day held on January 30, 2016, at Buckie Community High School was a resounding success! Over 130 boys participated and enjoyed the afternoon's activities, receiving their Fun Day badge as a memento. A big thank you to all the volunteers who helped make the day so enjoyable. The next event on the calendar was the Battalion Swimming competition in Buckie on February 3rd. This event proved a highlight for our younger members.
Senior football team qualifies for scottish final (january 2016)
On January 30, 2016, the senior football team achieved a fantastic qualification for the Scottish 5-a-side Final in Dundee! The winning team included: Brodie Christie, Innes McKay, Ryan Brindle, Jamie Wood, Scott Innes, Lee Cowie, Greg Hay, Ross Coull, and Evan Smith. Their dedication and skill led them to this impressive achievement, and we wish them the best of luck in the final. The team’s success reflects the brigade’s commitment to sportsmanship and teamwork.
