Taylor swift's minimalist new york look draws carolyn bessette-kennedy comparisons
Taylor Swift's latest outing in New York City has drawn comparisons to the understated style of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy. The 'Shake It Off' singer stepped out in a black tank top from The Row paired with a ivory silk maxi skirt from Meshki, a look that could have easily been plucked from the pages of a 1990s fashion tome.

Minimal chic
Swift's pared-back ensemble, complete with a longline black blazer and accessories from Dior and Audry Rose, marked a departure from her usual signature style of knee-high boots and mini skirts. The muted black and white palette lent the overall look a decidedly bridal air, given Swift's rumored summer wedding to Travis Kelce.
Swift's glam remained true to form however, with swooping bangs and a flick of eyeliner. She was joined by friends Ashley Avignone and Jerrod Carmichael for the evening out.
It's not the first time Swift has mixed things up with her wardrobe choices. Her appearance at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards saw her debut her engagement ring in a custom pistachio green Wiederhoeft corset and mini-skirt, a far cry from her usual all-black ensembles.
