Technical nightmares and blonde transformations: katseye's chaotic coachella prep
A disastrous video call, battling laptop batteries, and a celebrity stylist’s intervention – that’s the reality behind Katseye’s meticulously crafted look ahead of their Coachella performance. The group’s five members, scattered across Los Angeles and the Tennessee Smoky Mountains, faced a series of technological hurdles that threatened to derail their preparations.
Behind the glitches: a chaotic countdown
The initial call was a disaster. Static, freezing cameras, and a dying battery plagued the video link, highlighting the logistical nightmare of coordinating a group of musicians across such disparate locations. Daniela Avanzini and her bandmates – Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel, Yoonchae Jeung, and Sophia Laforteza – were rehearsing for their Friday night set in a Los Angeles dance studio, while Samantha Masunaga was troubleshooting from Blackberry Farm. It was a far cry from the polished image they were striving for.

A platinum makeover: from inspiration to reality
But amidst the technical chaos, a significant transformation was underway. Lead singer Yoonchae Jeung, inspired by Pinterest and a yearning for a bolder look, opted for a dramatic blonde makeover, spearheaded by creative director Humberto Leon and visual director João Moraes.
