Harry & meghan dive into polo drama with new netflix series
Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, are channeling their royal connections and penchant for high-stakes drama into a new Netflix series centered around the world of polo.

New series set in the world of polo
The couple's Archewell Productions is partnering with the creators of Gossip Girl and The O.C., Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, to develop a scripted drama set in Wellington, Florida – the equestrian epicenter of the British royal circuit. The show will reportedly explore the rivalries and interpersonal conflicts within the elite polo community.
This isn't the Sussexes' first foray into the world of equestrian sports on Netflix. They previously produced a documentary series on polo, a project reportedly sparked by Prince Harry's own passion for the sport. He remains an active player, competing in charity matches, most recently at the St. Regis World Snow Polo Championship in Aspen in December 2025 under the moniker “Harry Wales.”
The polo series arrives as a surprise, considering earlier speculation about a cooling relationship between the Sussexes and Netflix. Reports surfaced about Netflix’s reduced investment in Meghan's brand, As Ever, and the cancellation of With Love, Meghan after one season. However, the polo project signals a renewed collaboration.
Beyond the polo drama, Archewell Productions has several other projects in development with Netflix, including adaptations of Jasmine Guillory’sThe Wedding Date and Carley Fortune’sMeet Me at the Lake. While details remain scarce, the polo series offers a glimpse into the couple’s continued ambition to shape narratives and leverage their platform.
The show’s premise – a blend of aristocratic rivalry and personal drama – feels distinctly reminiscent of the soapy intrigue that defined Gossip Girl. It's a calculated move by Harry and Meghan to further cultivate their brand and offer a unique perspective on a world rarely seen by the public.
The series production is slated for late 2024, with a projected release in 2025. It promises a peek behind the gilded gates of a world where tradition clashes with modern ambition.
