Cave unveils dramatic new bridal & funeral line – a secret world of opulence
Susie Cave, the enigmatic designer behind The Vampire’s Wife, is returning to the Fashion fray with a strikingly personal venture: Susie Cave Weddings & Funerals. Far removed from the subversive allure of her previous brand, this new collection promises an intensely private and exquisitely crafted experience.
A palace of shadows and silk
Discovered within the opulent art deco setting of Eltham Palace, a former royal residence now adorned by the eccentric Courtauld couple, Cave presented her latest creation – a black iridescent silk-velvet gown, complete with a discreet label hinting at its unique purpose. Following the devastating loss of her son, Arthur, in 2015, and later her stepson, Jethro, in 2022, Cave found solace and strength in her craft. “Work is what has saved me,” she stated, hinting at the profound emotional weight behind her return. Despite past challenges – including the abrupt shuttering of The Vampire’s Wife due to investor pressures – Cave remains unperturbed, citing a newfound resilience forged through hardship.
