Zendaya's 2026 met gala: fashion is art predictions

As the Met Gala 2026 approaches, one question is on everyone's mind: will Zendaya attend, and what will she wear?

Given her history of delivering unforgettable Fashion moments at the event, the anticipation is palpable. From her Joan of Arc-inspired Versace in 2018 to her Louis Vuitton zoot suit last year, Zendaya always seems to 'understand the assignment' when it comes to the Met's dress code.

Abstractions and artistry

With the 2026 'Fashion is Art' theme in mind, it's likely Zendaya will honor the theme with a look that abstracts her form. A sculptural Comme des Garçons dress or a molded Jean Paul Gaultier catsuit could be in the cards.

Throwback Monday: Zendaya and her stylist, Law Roach, love reviving archival runway looks, and the Met Gala is the perfect stage for such a revival. Mugler's figure-hugging designs from the '90s would be a no-brainer, while an Iris van Herpen skeleton dress from 2011 could also work.

Couture, custom, or costume?

Given the focus on art and couture, Zendaya might opt for a custom look that pushes the boundaries of Fashion as art. She could adapt a dramatic Maison Margiela design from fall 2026 or add a miles-long train to a sculptural Loewe dress.

Or, she might go full-on costume, combining Fashion with pop culture. Remember her Cinderella moment in 2019 or her Carrie Bradshaw homage? We can't rule out Zendaya wearing some piece of Hollywood history to the Met.
