Mandapa, a ritz-carlton reserve's hidden oasis in bali
Nestled deep within Bali's lush jungle, Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, offers an unparalleled retreat for the senses. This secluded gem, perched above the sacred Ayung River, seamlessly blends tranquility and luxury to create an unforgettable wellness experience.

Rediscovering serenity
After hours of Travel, the resort's picturesque landing pavilion serves as a breath of fresh air, with the wild jungle stretching as far as the eye can see. The spa, designed for couples and solo travelers alike, is situated alongside the river, fostering a deep connection with nature.
During my stay, I had the opportunity to indulge in three treatments, each showcasing the spa's unique approach to wellness. The most intriguing, led by local healer Ibu Ketut Mursi, introduced me to prana kombi, a massage targeting the central nervous system and neural pathways. While it was at times uncomfortable and painful, the healer's readings and recommendations revealed a surprising level of insight into my overall health.
For a lighter touch, the Mepijet massage relieves post-Travel tension, while the Disconnect to Reconnect program offers a range of complimentary daily activities, from yoga and watsu to incense making and chakra balancing, catering to the mind, body, and soul.
Mandapa's commitment to sustainability is evident in its partnerships with local NGOs, community farms, and orphanages. The resort's zero-waste dining concept, Kubu, sources ingredients from within 100 kilometers, making it a standout in the industry.
While the spa typically caters to hotel guests, the property's vintage Volkswagen is available for excursions into Ubud to experience local wellness practices, such as the melukat water-purification ritual at Pura Gunung Kawi Sebatu temple.
